Lioness – the new symbol of the Venice Film Festival
The Venice Film Festival, celebrating its 90th anniversary, has revealed the official poster of the event. For the first time in the history of the festival, its symbol was not a Lion, but a Lioness, depicted on a golden background – a reference to the color of the classic Biennale posters of past years. The poster was designed by Italian artist Lorenzo Mattotti. “After 90 years, the Venetian Lion, the symbol of the film festival, has evolved into a Lioness that flies through history with grace and vigor, a symbol of hope and the rejection of aggression and cruelty,” he said.
