Ukraine may receive up to $20 billion loan from the IMF by the end of the year
Ukraine expects to receive an IMF loan for $15-20 billion by the end of the year. This was announced by the head of the National Bank Kirill Shevchenko in an interview with Reuters.
According to Shevchenko, he hopes to agree on a new credit line for Ukraine with the Bank of England within a few weeks. “The IMF has always been Ukraine’s partner during the war. I hope to launch the program this year,” he said.
Ukraine has already sent its request to the IMF and is now in consultation with the fund about new financing, which he hopes will provide up to $20 billion in loans over two or three years, the NBU chief said.
