China opposes G7 decision to impose ceiling on oil prices from Russia
China opposes the decision of the G7 countries to impose a price ceiling on Russian oil. This was announced today at a briefing by the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China, Mao Ning.
According to her, the G7 countries should reconsider their position regarding the supply of raw materials from Russia.
“Oil is of great importance for ensuring global energy security. We hope that the countries concerned will make constructive efforts, and not vice versa,” journalists quoted her as saying.
Mao Ning stressed that oil is one of the key raw materials in the international market. And under the current international conjuncture, the G7 states should “strengthen the dialogue and push forward the negotiations,” said the spokesperson for China’s foreign ministry.
