Buckingham Palace plans to change the title of Queen Consort Camilla

Buckingham Palace plans to change the title of Queen Consort Camilla Parker Bowles.

It is reported that at the royal court they hope that by the coronation of the eldest son of Queen Elizabeth II, society will get used to the fact that his wife will become just a queen, and her title will lose the “consort” part.

In the period leading up to the coronation, royal aides hope to discreetly remove the word “consort” from the title of Queen Camilla,” insiders say.

All the wives of British kings in the modern history of the monarchy had a simplified title, in particular the Queen Mother, Mary and Alexandra. Camilla Parker-Bowles, in turn, agreed to the title of queen consort “in deference to public opinion.” The special reasons for the decision of the wife of the newly-made king of Great Britain are not reported.

Prince Philip, husband of the late Queen Elizabeth II, for example, renounced the title of king consort and remained a prince until the end of his days.

The coronation of Charles III will take place on May 6, 2023, the birthday of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s son.
