Taylor Swift breaks Billboard Hot 100 record
The American singer became the first artist whose songs simultaneously took the top 10 spots of the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
Billboard reports.
It is known that the popular American singer managed to overtake the Canadian rapper Drake, whose compositions in 2021 occupied the first nine places of the chart out of 10.
Now in the Billboard Hot 100, all ten lines are occupied by 32-year-old Taylor’s tracks from the latest Midnights album. The song “Anti-Hero” topped the chart.
The new album was released on October 21 in both a standard version with 13 tracks and a deluxe version with seven bonus tracks. It was one of the biggest album launches in nearly seven years.
Swift set a number of new records with Midnights: it had the biggest first week of sales of any album this year, nearly doubling that of the previous title holder, Harry’s House, Harry Styles’ third solo album. Midnights also had the highest first-week streams of the year, with 72.5 million, also surpassing Styles’ figures of 53.9 million.
