The Longevity Formula: How Medicine Is Redefining the Hotel Experience
A modern resort is no longer just a place for relaxation. It’s a space where our understanding of the body, energy, and future is being transformed. At Mirotel Resort & Spa, medical programs are not an added service — they are a carefully designed system of care based on evidence-based medicine, personalized approaches, and clearly measurable outcomes.
We spoke with Dr. Andriy Skorokhod — PhD in Medicine, urologist, sexologist, endocrinologist, andrologist, and head of major national health projects — about why men’s health requires more than just “tips,” what true prevention looks like, and how real wellness differs from surface-level relaxation.
You work at the intersection of hard science and high expectations. How did you build the concept of Mirotel’s programs to stay grounded in evidence-based medicine while also providing an emotional impact?
We follow the principles of Evidence-Informed Practice. This means we combine the latest in evidence-based medicine with the extensive clinical experience of our specialists — and integrate it all with the personal needs and preferences of our guests. It’s a synthesis of science and the human factor.
Your website mentions detox, revitalization, and weight control programs. But isn’t the main goal of all these programs a systemic reset of the body? How do you explain that it’s not about “cleansing” but rather metabolic reprogramming?
We combine medical treatment with wellness procedures, Truskavets’ renowned mineral waters, outdoor walks, nutritional support, breathing techniques, social interaction, and stress relief. These are all elements with proven physiological effects — not magic, but a holistic part of a healthy lifestyle. Our aim is to activate the body’s natural resources — and that’s the essence of our integrative health approach.

What defines a high-quality medical spa service in your view? How do you measure its effectiveness, especially when the focus is on prevention rather than treatment?
A high-quality spa service is not just a “pleasant procedure.” It’s a blend of comfort, safety, professionalism, and tangible results — both physiological and emotional.
We assess effectiveness through:
- Subjective outcomes: improved well-being, reduced physical tension, better sleep, restored energy levels;
- Physiological indicators: normalized blood pressure and pulse, healthier skin, reduced swelling;
- Guest satisfaction and return rate for repeat programs.
In what condition do guests usually arrive? What patterns do you observe — burnout, post-COVID symptoms, hormonal imbalances, anxiety, excess weight? Are people truly ready for long-term change?
It’s rare that guests come with a single, clearly defined issue. More often, we see a mix of symptoms: sleep disturbances, chronic headaches, weight gain, hormonal imbalances, persistent fatigue, stress, and anxiety.
Our approach is always comprehensive — focused not on quick fixes, but on systemic changes that yield lasting results.
What’s the most common misconception guests have? What’s the first mindset shift they need before starting the program?
Before starting, we always provide personalized consultations to explain: results don’t end when the stay ends.
To maintain what they’ve gained, guests need to continue with proper sleep routines, balanced nutrition, regular physical activity, treatment of chronic conditions, and health screenings.
We help shift the mindset from “get instant results” to “invest in long-term health.”
You collaborate with international associations. What aspects of preventive medicine inspire you most — and which of them have already been implemented at Mirotel?
Our doctors are highly experienced — with over 20 years of practice in balneology and internal medicine — and are members of both Ukrainian and international medical associations. They’re also certified in Mayr Therapy.
Mirotel regularly hosts national medical conferences as part of continuous professional development. We actively implement anti-aging strategies — both for primary prevention (avoiding the onset of illness) and secondary prevention (managing chronic conditions to prevent flare-ups).

In your opinion, what will the best health resorts look like 10 years from now? And what role can Ukraine play in that vision?
The future of health resorts lies in the synergy of medicine, technology, psychology, and bioengineering. Even today, Mirotel is not just a getaway — it’s a center for full physical, emotional, hormonal, and cellular reset.
We believe Truskavets has everything it takes to become a leading wellness destination in Eastern Europe — offering depth, warmth, and accessibility. And we’re working toward that goal every day.
