The Visual Language of Ukrainian Business in the USA: The Story of REELVIBE AGENCY

REELVIBE AGENCY is a creative video production studio founded in Chicago by Ukrainian native Yana Korzheniuk, who combined creativity, style, and strategic vision in her business. Her creative partner, Anna Telna, is the inspirer of visual content and co-author of ideas that turn into meaningful stories. They don’t just shoot videos — they shape a recognizable aesthetic that helps brands speak the language of emotion.

How did the idea to create REELVIBE AGENCY come about, and what inspired you to take this step?

Yana: The idea for REELVIBE AGENCY was born from our love for visual art and the desire to give a voice to businesses that deserve to be heard. After moving to the U.S., I saw how many strong brands and entrepreneurs need modern, stylish, and authentic video content. We realized that we could do more than just create beautiful videos — we could build stories that resonate emotionally. That’s how the agency was born — a fusion of Ukrainian creativity and the American approach to business.

What were the first steps in launching the agency in the U.S., and how did you start your activity here?

Anna: Everything started with small projects — shoots for friends, local businesses, beauty salons. We built our portfolio and put all our energy into quality and service. At the same time, we studied the local market, client culture, and trends. In fact, the hardest part wasn’t finding a client, but earning trust in a new environment as immigrants. But we’re used to working hard and not afraid of challenges — and that became our superpower.

How would you define the main mission of REELVIBE AGENCY?

Yana: Our mission is not just to shoot video, but to convey feeling, atmosphere, and brand values through dynamic visual content. We want our clients not just to have a “promo,” but to feel that the video became part of their story and growth. We aim to be a space where business and creativity meet — and create true synergy.

What is your competitive advantage? What sets you apart among other production studios in Chicago?

Anna: First, we deeply understand how to adapt video to modern platforms — TikTok, Reels, YouTube Shorts — we don’t just shoot, we think in terms of algorithms and trends. Second, we’re always in close contact with the client — every project for us is a partnership, not just a service. And of course — our Ukrainian spirit gives us the courage to experiment, take risks, and create without templates. We bring a European aesthetic into the American market format — and that definitely sets us apart.

How do you and Anna divide responsibilities in the agency? What’s more “yours”?

Yana: We don’t have a strict division of “yours” and “mine.” We shoot together, edit together, and negotiate with clients together. Sometimes one of us takes the lead in a specific process while the other supports from a different side. It’s like a dance — everything is built on understanding, flexibility, and respect. We are both fully immersed in every project, and that’s our strength.

What challenges do women face in the creative business in the U.S.?

Yana: One of the main challenges is the constant need to prove your expertise. In the creative environment, there’s still a stereotype that equipment, production, and filming are a “man’s thing.” So when you’re a woman with a camera who’s also directing the process — you might initially be underestimated. But on the flip side, it gives you the opportunity to impress. Another challenge is balancing creativity and business. We have to be directors, managers, producers — all at once, without losing ourselves. But that’s exactly what makes us stronger.

What is your big goal for the next year in developing the agency?

Yana: We have a clear goal — to take the agency to a new level of scale. We want to work with major brands not only in Chicago but across the U.S. We’re also planning to launch our own micro-documentary series about Ukrainians in the U.S. — to show how much strength, talent, and light our stories hold. And we want to build our first full-fledged production team — with camera operators, stylists, screenwriters. REELVIBE is growing — and we’re ready for the big game.
