Event that was awaited for two years: the 75th Cannes Film Festival

The pandemic made it impossible to host one of the most luxurious and long-awaited film festivals in the world for several years. However, this year the festive opening and the subsequent festival program are held with a military emphasis due to the situation in Ukraine.

The country, which has been fighting against Russian aggression for several months, is represented at the film event by a new documentary film “The Natural History of Destruction” by Sergei Loznitsa and “Butterfly Vision” by a young Ukrainian director Maksim Nakonechnyi.

In total this year, more than 20 feature films are competing for the main award – the Palme d’Or. Among them are the long-awaited “Elvis” by Baz Luhrmann and several strong psychological dramas with Hollywood favorites: Michelle Williams, Lea Seydoux and Margaret Qualley.

The guests of the already canonical red carpet in the brilliance of flashbulbs demonstrate an abundance of new stylistic techniques in evening looks.

One of the guests from Ukraine this year was the model, TV presenter, businesswoman and owner of the Ukrainian-French International Order Natalia Zhir. Natalia dedicated her appearance on the red carpet to the entire Ukrainian people and asked all the guests to support Ukraine.
