The fifth season of The Crown has not yet been released, but has already managed to get into a loud scandal. Daily Mail journalists reported that some high-ranking officials called for a boycott of the series due to slander against Charles III.

In one of the episodes of the fifth season, it will be told how Prince Charles (now he is Charles III) entered into a conspiracy with the then Prime Minister John Major in order to overthrow Elizabeth II from the throne. However, John himself said that there was no meeting and called the conversation “a barrel of malicious nonsense.” Another source made a similar statement.
